So today...

Today is free dress day!!! Woo Hoo!!! *rolls eye* Why do I feel like it's going to look like Halloween at my school? Ok, well, not Halloween, but I know that the fashion police should be arresting people today. I mean, I actually don't mind wearing the uniform. Most salons want you to wear black all of the time and hey, black goes with everything... AND!!! when you are coloring hair, you don't want to stain your clothes. With black, you can just take a magic marker to it and call it good.

It's also the pot luck... I have to go to the store and get some salad stuff. And it's our gift exchange... I bought my friend Tiffany (and I don't have many people I have at school that I can call a  friend) some Paul Mitchell Super Skinny stuff and some PM brushes... I hope that she likes them. And you ask, "what are so special about Paul Mitchell brushes???" Well, a stylist has to have the best tools to work with just like a mechanic or a doctor. I am not saving lives or vehicles... But I am saving bad hair... I am looking forward to giving her that stuff. I hope that she likes it. I know that I would love it.

Ok, so yesterday, I rolled a perm in 35 minutes... It looked like shit. So when I turned it in, I told my instructor, "I know it looks like crap, but I rolled it in 35 minutes." I got a high 5!!! She then told the job placement administrator, "Jen, is one of my favorite students. If I could have 200 of her, I would in a heart beat. She makes my job soooo easy." My other instuctor came in and told her the same thing. Ok, so it's not like I am kissing ass or anything. I just take this seriously. It's important to me to have a career and be independent to where I don't have to worry about the what if, you know? It's like I hated going to school at my last school because of the instructors and the manager. I hated the way that they treated us like one day we were cattle and the next day we were in Kindergarten. I loved the students and that's why I stayed there for so long. At the school I go to now, I hate the students, but love the instructors, and that's what counts. I told them that.  The JP Admin wants me to write a letter to the school telling them just that.

Tonight I get to see Larry and that will make up for all of the crap I had to deal with last night. Again, the best things out of last night were seeing Audrey "shake it" and to see MY MARCIA and that's what I am thankful for.
